LONG BROWN STOCKINGS

Long brown stockings and
   garters and
   long dresses worn to school--
   even when it's very hot.

Marjorie wears long white stockings.
 Marjorie is pretty and
    has long dark curls.

Why can't I have
   curls and wear
   white stockings, too?

When I grow up I'll dye my hair,
   and curl it up in
   soft kid curlers.

I'll wear my dresses short so
   everyone can see my
   long, white stockings.
