I have been writing, just not for the blog. I completely missed those two weeks of summer and will now get ready to celebrate Halloween. I have no excuse not to post more often, but I have been busy. A few days at St. Anthony's Hospital, then surgery for a "macular pucker" (don't ask) but I am beginning to recuperate from these helth problems and will try to keep up to date.
I have received many wonderful photos of the most beautiful great grandchild on the planet: Austin Reid Miller born in Dana Point, CA in May. Dad is our daughter, Sue's son, Clay, and Mom is Trinity Evans Miller and this is their first. Austin will probably begin surfing before he's in kindergarten if Daddy Clay has anything to say about it.
Granddaughter, Dawn, Clay's sister, moved to a new apartment, and his cousin, Chuck, was planning to move when he got back from France this week. I used to say my kids moved when the ash trays got dirty, but nobody smokes anymore so I must assume they are nomadic and like to find new views from their windows.
The newlyweds, Melissa (Chuck's sister) and Jesse Butler, are settled and Melissa has joined a new dance troupe. She needs to send Grandma an updated photo in one of her new costumes. The last photo I got of her was at movie promotion with Rob Lowe. Nice.
Other grandchildren are either working or going to school.
Charlie Rook is still wanting to buy a Cadillac and I keep telling him when he walks and has the approval of his doctors we will see that he gets a driver 's license and he will have a car. It is a difficult path for him, this after-stroke routine. He is happiest when he's at the farmer's market or shopping almost anywhere. Especially where they sell Cadillacs or big red trucks.
I hurt for him.
