Welcome back Phyllis!

The cyclists are supposed to arrive in Astoria, OR, tomorrow and I am sure they are on schedule. Her blog shows a happy camper and I am sure we'll get some of the many interesting stories out of Phyl in the weeks to come. Her siblings have been excited about her ambitious undertaking since May when she flew to Virginia to begin her bicycle journey. As her mom I hope she sticks around awhile. I missed her.

The summer has been pretty good so far. Charlie Rook went to the Farmer's Market Saturday accompanied by Susie and Rich. We saw Teri at her booth doing caricatures and next weekend she'll be at the Saturday market as well as the Sunday Port Orchard Cruz, also a festive event featuring classic cars.

My tomatoes are growing in a large pot and have lots of blooms only I haven't seen any bees in the area so don't know if we'll have tomatoes this year. Maybe next year.

It doesn't seem possible that we are more than halfway through the year. Before you know it I'll have to drag out the Halloween decor for the carved bear at my front door. (He does like to dress up).

Happy August everyone.
